One major problem in the field of arts & music is copyrights. Being native to Trinidad, a country with incredible local talent and musical geniuses, Mud Cottage Studios is proud to say that all music tracks used in our videos are royalty free. Even in our non-commercial work, such as wedding videography and our portfolio videos, royalty free music is used.

Music that is not royalty free basically is stealing an artist’s work. These talented individuals sacrifice time while investing their intelligence in their profession.

The world is blooming with wonderful digital technology. This holds true even to our small Caribbean island Trinidad. Do me a favour, try to think about how “it used to be” before smartphones, androids, internet and yes of course, digital cameras. Can you? I sure can’t.
In this article, I intend to outline my thoughts on the need for a photographer to understand film & darkroom development to greater appreciate his own artform.

If one wishes to be involved in an art, whether it be song writing, painting or photography, then one must have respect for his profession. Some may think, anyone can snap a camera. However, a photographer sees the frame in a different light and makes an attempt for the viewer to see through his eyes.

It is my opinion as a creative individual, not as a photographer, to state that film photography has more “artistic feeling” on a personal level. Don’t get me wrong, I cannot live without my digital camera. However, I do practice film photography to diversify my skills as a photographer. Some may disagree and say that film is obsolete. On the contrary, it is my belief that using a film camera and going the extra mile to develop one’s own images is a key way of understanding the physics behind this wonderful art.
